Cap brand: RIFA
Model: PME 271M 40/100/56/B 250VAC

I was going to change the starter of the fixture, only to find out the fitting reeks terribly, and upon further inspection I found this cap has blown its guts out. >_>
Sweet Jesus that stinks...

I was called to look for source of smell in the user's offices. This was Polyester capacitor smell, but from where ? Comes out it one of the "dipped in Red epoxy" type 1uF 250V capacitor was leaking and dripping melted Polyester in the power supply in one of the PCs. Yet the PC was still working just fine. Problem to trace it was, that the PS got a fan that vents it all quickly out and it immediately propagates equally through the entire room. And it pulls the room air into the PS (through the PC first), so you dont notice any concentration of the smell even when sniffing straight from the fan blowing out of the bad PS

These Rifa caps are familiar thing in Finland too.

This style red epoxy cap was fully disassembled in a motion detector floodlight after thunder.
