IIRC, Sylvania wasn't the one who discontinued them; they sold their outdoor lighting division (or at least part of it) to Thomas & Betts, who dropped most of the products including all the cobraheads because they already produced their own (AE's line). And in 2003, Thomas & Betts sold the American Electric line to Acuity Brands, which renamed the brand American Electric Lighting. (Lights made 2003 or later are "AEL", light prior to 2003 are simply "AE".) The Twistpack was one of the few models that was spared and is still made to this day, though I wonder for how much longer.

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

IIRC the B2255 was made until around 2000-2001 or so and the R47 and R7 lights were made until 2002 or so. I believe they kept the old Powerlites in production for a few years after the buyout but discontinued most of the Powerlite designs a couple of years later.

It seems like the Twistpak and the DTD both of which were former Sylvania/Powerlite designs got discontinued though. The replacement for the Twistpak seems to be the Comtempo which was made in parallel to the Twistpak for years.

Also it seems like you really have to jump through hoops to see AEL's HID luminaire offerings now.
