Cleared out Russian Osram F18T8 tube

As a matter of fact, Russian Osram tubes are very easy to clear out wia a strong magnet. Why? Because Russian Osram uses Mercury amalgam tablet inside, that is actually magnetic! I have cleared out countless Russian Osram tubes, some were even F36T8 4ft ones, but the long ones don't last very long, because the filaments get caked in phosphor powder, and as it burns the emitter powder burns off too, so the tube goes EOL pretty much after an hour of use. So that is why I used 2ft tube. Very nice arc when the tube is preheating!

Yes. This tube was made in 2018. The only catc is that it has to be made in russia for the amalgam pallet to be magnetic

New lighting technologies is a pity fest everywhere you look. From LEDs that last only for two months, to a never-ending global starvation of t8 fluorescent tubes.
We shall reinforce ourselves with good old full mercury t12s and HIDs made to surpass one's life, and give them all the middle finger ;

I have a russian germicidal tube
plan on putting this in a glass jacket

No LED gadgets, spins too slowly.  Gotta  love preheat and MV. let the lights keep my meter spinning.
