I used to think these were 175w until I found one that was roadkill and it had a 100w ballast and medium base socket in it.

Any machine is a smoke machine if you operate it wrong enough.

They just installed a bunch of these nearby, they are LED made by Holophane (I saw the boxes) They're actually quite nice NO glare and brighter than the rusty rotten 100w HPS shoeboxes they replaced. The old lights were literally falling over in a moderate breeze due to post corrosion! The only complaint I have with these is when these were installed they were installed in 2 separate groups and the installers of the first group apparently didn't realize (or care) that these have a street side and a house side so most are pointing either up the road, down the road or at the grass and bldgs NOT at the street where they should be !
