They are, I also have a couple of 9W ones but with BC (B22d) caps. Although I am rather surprised they actually made them with these, given the size and weight of the lamps. I for one would not want to be sitting underneath one if the securing pins in the cap decided to give way The lamp is also very unstable when operated base down in (say) a table lamp, it rocks from side to side quite significantly, whereas the E27 version is perfectly secure. BC caps are fine for incandescent lamps and the later small CFL's or LED lamps, but I think these are pushing it a bit

yes I do not like the bc version for the reasons you mentioned, it is not suitable for SL lamps, especially when you have a SL25 of 600 grams above the head.

and I dont have BC fixtures at home and it does not sell anymore.

that's why I try to have only E27 version in my collection even if I would not refuse a BC version.
