Got any GE bulbs made in Chile? GE made some 60w Reveal bulbs for a short time in Chile back in 2005ish.

May all the great lighting technologies have their place in history.

Now, the incandescent and old interesting bulbs are pretty hard to find in Chile

Are bulbs of any type still made in Chile? I remember Philips making smaller fluorescent tubes (up to 30 watt) in Chile for a short time for sale here in the 1990s. Now they’re made in the USA and Poland.

I think no... Because is more cheaper to import LED, CFL or halogen from other countries.

I don't understand this need to ban incandescent bulbs.

The "reason" for ban the incandescent lights is for "save energy and reduce the contamination". In terms of contamination, the CFL and LED are WORST than incandescent, if a CFL or LED burns, you can easily put in a normal trasch can, and the Mercury, Cadmium, Aluminium, and some polymers and hidrocarbons are filtred to the undergrond layers, and finally for the sea.

Well, we know that not to be so. If you want to know the truth its more infrastructure related if you ask me. Electrical demeaned is skyrocketing, and there is only so much utilties want to build for infrastructure. Or want to go through the trouble of NIMBY.

I mean that its not about energy savings and contamination. I'm agreeing with you here - sorry about how I worded it.

CFLs of large brands such as Osram can last well, especially if operated on open fixtures, and at vertical base-down use, to allow the tube heat to escape from the lamp instead of heating the ballast base.

I"m don't speak English well, and rely on online translating to write in this site.
Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.

I only working with the European date format (dd.mm.yyyy).

I lives in Israel, which is a 230-240V, 50hz country.
