Thing i wondered : Is it possible to dim an Incandescent lamp exactly to the point where it gives no visible light, but enough IR to light up the place for a camera (for example a CCTV camera)

You need quite large filament bulb for that even if it is possible I guess. LED's rule that near-infrared spectrum though.
