I'm just gonna call these Penny pincher lights, because they're quite pointless. Pl is pretty long lasting and efficient if I recall

They are, I have a handful of PLs in use that have been in use for over 10 years now.

so what is the typical lumen output of a /841 pl13?
not sure what the advantage of this thing would be.
i doubt it will last long enough to reach payback.
and if "plug and play" it is limited to around 300ma by the choke.

Normal 13 w Pl is 800 lumens . the advantages of these compared to the PL's are 1) no cold weather start problems , 2) no diminished light output in cold weather (standard PL's are roughly 1/2 as bright in cold weather ) , 3) 1/2 the wattage of PL with what appears to be (to me anyway) the same light output . I have 2 of these running dusk to dawn in my yard for 2 years now with no problems. How long they will last, time will tell !
