Thrift find: NOS Philips F40/AGRO lamps!

Thrift find: NOS Philips F40/AGRO lamps!

I got a pair of these at a thrift today, still in the sleeves. They also had three older F40/DX Altos with the narrow Philips etch, but they wanted too much for them IMO. There were also several General (GE) Electric F96T12/CW Slimlines, but again, I felt like they were overpriced at $2.55 each because they looked used.

It's amazing that these lamps were made almost 25 years ago and have presumably never been lit!

$2.55 isn't THAT bad for one.

Power provider: Southern California Edison (SCE)

-Date decoder of some US lamps 1960-present.
-Switch and receptacle collector.
-I'll save any vintage lamp! Smiley

These and the DXs were $3.55 each. $2.55 isn't awful, but kinda high for a used cool white slimline.

I like my lamps thick, my ballasts heavy, and my fixtures tough.

The original F96T12/CWs are very much worth getting at that price.

I'll think about it. It just doesn't seem like a great deal compared to stuff I've found before.

I noticed that Philips grow lamps have the most vibrant pink , where as sylvania is so so and Ge is more like a peach colour

Those are very nice! They will most likely have the very same spectrum of the Westy's. And, if the GE slimline are full wattage tubes, they are worth the 2.55.

What can i say, I'm a sucker for Westinghouse lamps!

@Lightingguy1994:
Yep they're more pink than the GE & Sylvania That's why i like these in particular.

@WestinghouseGuy:
They look the same color when lit, that much I can say.

@Cal
I don't know that they gave it a color temperature.
I have a pic of the westinghouse version here that sorta shows the color when lit
