Why would it be forbidden? Would it be the energy usage or the amount of heat these make?

Good quality things are awesome. Cheaply made things are not.

Probably due to being a fire hazard if you aren’t careful, particularly the 500w version.

Yes, these are forbidden due to the risk of fire. Today, Finland is mainly used for LED worklights. Before that there was already in use fluorescent worklights. https://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1105&pos=5&pid=156064

The manufacturer's name is quite special.

I have one of these that's designed for 120 volts and a 500 watt maximum lamp. I like collecting T3 halogen lamps and really enjoy pure, crisp halogen light. 100/150 watts isn't too much to worry about, though my 500 watt T3's are insanely hot. I don't even leave them unattended while they're on.

Philips DuraMax and GE Miser forever!  Classic incandescents are the best incandescents!

Stop the lamp bans!

Pretty much completely phased out here in Sweden in favour of LED work lights.

You can still get these here in Canada but the LED ones are taking over their market share. Before the LED one I've seen a few that used high wattage PL CFLs...now those I think have truly disappeared from store shelves here.
