I loathe these blister packs, it's impossible to take the lamp out without wrecking the wrapping

Me either, although sometimes you get lucky and can carefully pop the plastic off without ripping the paper printing. Worse though, are sealed clamshell packaging. I use utility knife to open it, but you still can't do so without ruining it.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.

I usually make a fine cut where the plastic meets the paper on the back of the pack, that way i can remove the lamp but still keep its display value.

Made in Sweden

But then you can't light it, and to me lamps should be lit, even if only occasionally. All the lamps in our collection get lit at some time or another, usually the discharge lamps, but sometimes the incandescents as well. The only time we'll ever keep a lamp unused is if we have a second one of the same type.
