Too bad they're junk lamps, but hey, $1 a lamp, I'd get the entire case!

Power provider: Southern California Edison (SCE)

-Date decoder of some US lamps 1960-present.
-Switch and receptacle collector.
-I'll save any vintage lamp! Smiley

I still really need to go to my local ReStore and see what they have. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow after work.

Vintage HID Lamp & Luminaire Collector

It's unfortunate that these come from China. These are a far cry from what was made at Bath up to the early 90's...after that, quality went down hill fast. (It's still a good deal anyway!)

Your mission - should you choose to except it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.

@ fluorescentlover40 : When I found these they had no price so I asked an employee and he looked at the box and said " would $12 work ?" I said YEP!

@ sox35 : I see other members here touting their Restore finds but mine usually sucks ! Mostly they have over priced junk ! BTW don't know if you know or not but Restore gets all they're stuff from donations by home owners and businesses with unwanted items such as building supplies, furniture, appliances etc. that they then resell to help needy people get a home .

@wide-lite 1000 Yes, I know all about the Restore places you have over there, I was just wishing we had them here..!! We do have charity shops but they are mostly full of clothes and general household items such as furniture, plus DVD's & stuff.
Never any discharge lamps, though

I couldn't remember if you'd heard of them or not. As I said mine usually just has junk! 95% of the lighting stuff trash (IMO) Occasionally you strike gold ! (OK,not gold- maybe tin ?) . My decided to check out my local charity shop recently and found nothing !

Ceramic insulator, looks like a Philips Powertone 250w made in Brazil in the early 2000s.

Congrats on the purchase!

I find the Restores here to be quite hit or miss in the last two years. Sometimes you still find the odd vintage fluorescent or HID but it was been mostly newer stuff like CFLs, T5 lamps and LED in the last two years. Nothing like 2010-2015 when I consistently found something nice at the Restore.

That being said, modern lamps like these are good if you have a fixture you run regularly.

My Restore has a bunch of PL lamps currently, but nothing HID at the moment. There were some Philips MH bulbs and some Sylvania MV that Lowes probably donated. But none now. They really have been a miss in the wiring device section. There used to be lots of cool old things, but now nothing for last several times I tried it.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.
