GE 175w Yard Blaster

GE 175w Yard Blaster

Click to view full size image

This is mounted on one of the buildings on my friends property in northern Maine. It has a coated 175w MV lamp. It works.....well sort of. It starts as normal taking 5 min or so to run up , then runs for 20-25 min and goes out and won't restart until you un-plug the light . If left plugged in after a while the lamp will begin to faintly glow but never restrike. I tried it 3 nights in a row with the same results. Each time it NEVER would restart that evening. Each night, it started and ran normally until it went out and then that was it for the night . We finally gave up on it !

Made by GE. Still haven't seen one of these. The ITT/AE/Electripak ones are the ones I always see.

Good quality things are awesome. Cheaply made things are not.

Thanks for the I.D. If it actually worked correctly and had the refractor I would've considered trying to save it .

You can always save it and if the ballast has an issue you can replace it (if I remember the ballast is held in by screws). Also it has a standard button PC. I know the refractor is hard to find but it's worth a shot!

He has to take it down anyways when the building roof gets replaced . I'll ask him to save it for me .

Nice!

Don't be fooLED, T8 IS the worst thing to do to a magnetic T12 fixture.
