There are similar cetenary lighting after Kiryat Ata in the way to Acre. In the past, there were these AEG SOX lanterns , which I don't know their name. During my teenage, these SOX lanterns has been replaced by AEG Seilkoffer 250 HPS lanterns.

I"m don't speak English well, and rely on online translating to write in this site.
Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.

I only working with the European date format (dd.mm.yyyy).

I lives in Israel, which is a 230-240V, 50hz country.

I really like this! It's always a pleasure when I visit my friends in Hamburg and I'm driving the Autobahn A7 in direction of Elbtunnel - The moment when these lights turn up, I know I'm almost there

We had SOX and SLI lighting on the motorways like this many years ago, sadly most have gone. Although last Christmas we saw some 180W SOX on columns near London, which was a welcome sight in an otherwise L*D sea

It'll be all right in the end, and if it isn't all right, it isn't the end

I just read that these SOX fixtures are converted to LED. This kind of SOX Catenary Lighting was very common in the past but most are replaced by HPS and LED lantern on "normal" columns

@ Proteus. I know the installation at Hamburg

Cool that they kept the setup though. There used to be a installation like this in Quebec. The only such example I could think of in North America. Unfortunately it was replaced with high mast HPS in the mid 2010s.

Thats great to see them reusing these classic old lanterns with a LED conversion! I was afraid all the catenary lanterns in Holland would disappear. The similar installation near me from the Belgian border to Maastricht was sadly removed a few weeks ago. Now I have some hope that perhaps the lanterns are being converted and might come back for a new lease of life!

These were everywhere when I lived in Holland. As a child I was most fascinated by the installation on the A12 heading to Den Haag or by the IKEA on the bridge in Utrecht, which had 2 in parralel.

Streetlights are most often overlooked by society as we go about in life. I have had an interest and fascination for them since I was very little. I love drawing detailed city-scapes and the streetlights are my signature. They always play an important role in my drawings. Like Bob Ross' clouds.

Since Hamilton closed last year, yes there is no SOX production anywhere

There are still a few 18W lamps on eBay, but like all of them, the prices are rising fast

The parallel ones are still there but the rest between Den Haag and Utrecht is gone.
