Hot fluorescent wall packs look like mercury vapor

Hot fluorescent wall packs look like mercury vapor

Day burning CFL wall packs on a very hot day in fully enclosed wall pack fixtures looked like high pressure /DX mercury lamps from the increased mercury vapor pressure. Very greenish yellow tinge to them. Not sure of the wattage...maybe 42?

Interesting, I had no idea high heat could cause fluorescents to turn a mercury color.

Any machine is a smoke machine if you operate it wrong enough.

AB, I once worked for a contractor who installed these CFL wall packs. These fixtures can take up to two 42W CFL's. (I know where this picture was taken. )

Your mission - should you choose to except it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.
