Sylvania DX USA & Canada

Sylvania DX USA & Canada

Here are a couple daylight deluxe lamps, both brand new from Menards. They're selling off their last batch of lamps from Drummondville, and beginning to receive new stock from Versailles. Like the cool white deluxe and full spectrum / design 50 lamps, these received a boost in lumens, from 2180 (Canada) to 2400 (USA). They fall short of the 3000+ lumen lamps we used to have, and to my eye the difference is minimal, but it's better than nothing. These lamps sure are green, and I'm not talking about the boost in efficiency. Daylight deluxe is already has a greenish hue compared to regular daylight, and with the USA lamps it's even more pronounced. They haven't reached the level of cool green, but they're close.

So both of them shouldn't have been designed as Day Light Deluxe, once there is a pronounced greenish hue on the USA made bulb... and therefore their CCT are not exactly the same (6500K).

In my gallery I have some modern Philips F40/DX lamps compared directly to Sylvania F40/CG.
My Philips F40/DX seem more "white" than these Sylvanias, I prefer the apparently bluer tint of your Sylvania F40/DX lamps.

I actually like the look of Cool Green, got some '92 Sylvania I got out of SemperLite. I have lots of the Philips Alto daylight deluxe. Might have to give these a try.

I find the old (not modern) sylvania daylight deluxe lamps always had a cold greenish blue colour to them but i liked that

Interesting! I never compared with a Canadian made but the US made Sylvania 5000k lamps also have a greenish color compared to other brands.
