Lamps on my lamp tester: Twinarc SHP-TS 70W, SIG 75W, HQL 80W, NAV-E50WE (with two starters)
All are used but some much more :-)
(My camera didn't get it to show the real brightness of the lamps)

Looks nice. If you want to experiment, try "M" (manual mode) on your camera upper ring and set the exposure as desired.

With high shutter speeds (like 1/500s in your case), the brightness of HID lamps at 50Hz will be different in each shot, depending on the current point on the voltage amplitude, ranging from almost dark to fully bright.

The brightness of the incandescent lamp will be almost the same every time, as the filament cools down quite slowly.
With shutter speeds 1/100, 1/50 or 1/25 sec the results of this test should be relevant.

@merc: thanks. I need to try that out. I have the cam just bought. My old one was from 2008.
@MissRiaElaine: Yes, but none of the finished state.
@Danny: Yes. What do you want to see?
