I have found that overdriving mercury lamps significantly for a short amount of time can sometimes clear up the blackening on the arctube to a certain extent.

Any machine is a smoke machine if you operate it wrong enough.

I should do this with almost EOL GE MV Lamps...
Just for fun and experiment, I don't really need them, because they need to be started externally.

Lamp, Street lighting, gear and valve collector.
