Westinghouse F30T12 in the Elevator

I got the chance to capture the Westinghouse black-ender 3 footer fluorescent light bulb still in service inside the elevator at the location where I went to service a printer at work. Seems to be still new condition without any banding.

I wonder if they have an old case of them and don't use them anywhere else. I haven't seen a real Westinghouse fluorescent in use commercially for a couple decades, though I did come across some Sylvania GTE VHO lamps at a gas station last year.

That was my thought, Patrick. However, it seems like it was there for as long as I can remember. Perhaps 5 or 7 years I have been working at the same location for about 15 years. This elevator is pretty old, perhaps 30 or 35 years old

Perhaps I should make a grab of the elevator control which it has the VFD panel.

Pretty, please no more Chinese failure.

I have seen wesry fluorescent inside Albertsons
there a pair of F96T12W in employee break room
that lamp been up there far as I remember as a kid
until The store close in fall of 2001 in San Antonio
the building sat empty for about a year then HEB
bought the perperty then they ran that light for 2 more
years until that store fully went F96T8

one other place Circle K had black enders into
the 1990s failing one by one. i remember they had
case of 4 ffooter westy 34 watt Econ o watts blackeders
stored inside beer coolee. later they pulled out of San Antonio early 2000s. it became middle eastern type conveniance store and they ripped all the F96T12s out
with few black enders still going. using F32T8 fixture in different row pattern. and it lost MV lit lantern over two
gas pumps.

No LED gadgets, spins too slowly.  Gotta  love preheat and MV. let the lights keep my meter spinning.

Around 10 years ago, I was in a garden centre that still had some F96 Lifelines still in the lights. The garden centre has since been levelled for a new housing development. The oldest lamps I've come across in places seem to be usually MV. I've seen some place with lamps from the 70s and 80s still in use in MV recessed cans.

Here is the VFD at Otis Elevator to determine the age of the elevator
