McCann Lighting CG CinemaGlo™ With 12" Extension Arm

McCann Lighting CG CinemaGlo™ With 12" Extension Arm

Made two of these to order for a friend of mine I work with. He chose hammered silver for the fixture color with no reveal stripe. Came out looking pretty sharp! He will be mounting two of these about 30" apart on the landing of his basement stairs, acting as wallwash lights for a sign he's going to mount on the wall. They've got Philips 300-change lumen LED candelabra chandelier lamps with the glass busted off (so they would fit in the light). They're nice and bright and work great for this use, especially with the extension arms.

I wonder, you can put a 35w CMH bulb in it, with a ballast box, that would be cool.

I doubt it would fit. If it did it would run way to hot. 15W incandescent is about as hot as this can get. 25W incandescent is too hot so 35W PSMH would be way too hot. Would look cool though. this is not a large fixture, only 6" diameter, so it's hard to find bright bulbs that will work in this fixture. LED is the only option for bright light that doesn't run too hot and will fit inside.

To resist is to piss in the wind, anyone who does will end up smelling.

Yeah, so LED filaments, with remote driver ballast? Could work.

Possibly, though a remote ballast would make applications limited, unless I could fit the remote driver inside the electrical box. Would probably need a 2-gang wall plate for a 2-gang box for the driver to fit though.
