It's quite surprising to find that a major lighting manufacturer is still producing fittings for a lamp size that is pretty much discontinued, perhaps maybe they are expecting 8ft LED tubes to be available!

Here (Israel) Eltam still keep manufacturing new 8' ballasts, and thats while none of the manufacturers make the lanterns anymore, i see the lanterns trashed everywhere (mostly for T5), and the lamps are partially banned....

Makes wonder who buys them, but at the contractor i go to to get my lighting components there is a nice package of brand new ones (with datecodes), and occasionally 1 or 2 disappear by the next time i visit, so somebody does appreciate the 8ft still
