Shielded Optispec I

Shielded Optispec I

Click to view full size image

The good old 'Aussie icon', the AEI/GEC Optispec can't even escape from the mouths of whingers of light pollution and the hands that hold the tin snips that cut the metal glare shields. I must admit though that whoever created this shield did a pretty neat job! This Optispec is a 150watt HPS and is of the later series of Optispecs as its control gear compartment is much shorter in length than that of the original.

The bottom left pic looks like the flying Nun. Looks to be the same person who did the handy work.

AEI, GEC, Osram, Rexel Optispec. Manufactured 1968-2008. may they live forever in our collections.
