Sylvania Boston

Sylvania Boston

Click to view full size image

At long last I have found myself a Sylvania 'Boston', this one being in catenary cable suspended format. While I was out of town for a week about twenty of these catenary suspended Boston's got removed from the one stretch of roadway in my hometown of Toowoomba and were replaced with pole mounted Sylvania Roadsters (see these new Roadsters here, which show a couple of remaining Boston's in the background that have been left untouched - now removed and replaced too). Fortunately I was able to rescue one from this traffic light intersection here and here after discovering the remaining handful of catenary suspended street lighting in town was to be removed and replaced with pole mounted Sylvania Roadsters.

This Boston is a 150 watt HPS - and yes it is VERY heavy! I'm about 173 centimeters tall if that gives anyone an indication of how big this Boston is!

Here and here are photos of my own Sylvania Roadsters, in aeroscreen and bowl form.
