Swiss Helvetia Vacuum G.L.S. Lamp

Swiss Helvetia Vacuum G.L.S. Lamp

This is a second example of this unusual Swiss brand. I think Helvetia is female embodiment of Switzerland and the figure depicted on two of the side panels of the box.

The lamp itself is a fairly ordinary low powered vacuum GLS with a 5WR wave wreath filament and Red Phosphorus Getter on the button rod.

It is the branding and packet artwork that are more curious with the Helvetia figure on two panels and a base-up lamp on the other two panels, the lid panel is also very stylish but contains little technical or geotemproal detail.

It appears this this was a Swiss product positioned at the lower end of the price scale...possibly re-badged. The artwork on the packet evokes pride in one's long history and country with statements in both German and French. The German seems to translate into something like, "The Trustworthy Swiss Lamp"...and seems to fit well with the other imagery used.

The other Helvita lamp I have posted has a far planer packet artwork is it is for a more technical use in the railways...but this one seems to be far more focused at the domestic consumer.

It possesses the same "Siemems" style E27 base, with the collar around the base of the Viterite cone, as the other Helvetia lamp I have posted...so both bases were sourced from the same place.
