My second self-ballasted mercury sunlamp. Found at a thrift store in a Sylvania carton (oddly enough) for $6. Fully working.

Nice find!

Good quality things are awesome. Cheaply made things are not.

Collector of lights and anything else that interests me as long as I have space for that particular thing!

I've never seen a sun lamp that wasn't fluorescent. Very cool.

Self-ballasted MV sunlamps were mainly popular in Europe and the UK. Here in Israel, solariums also uses fluorescent sunlamps. But the Israeli Cancer Association are against suntanning: Google translated article (Original Hebrew article) .

I"m don't speak English well, and rely on online translating to write in this site.
Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.

I only working with the European date format (dd.mm.yyyy).

I lives in Israel, which is a 230-240V, 50hz country.

I remember seeing the GE version of these in a sun lamp fixture at thrift stores before. Yeah you can still get them new for reptile terrariums.

I know GE made this MV sunlamp , but not a self-ballasted MV sunlamps.
Anyway, reptiles mainly requires IR radiation and not UV radiation, so a sunlamp may not be suitable for repltiles. Indeed zoos here in Israel, irradiating reptiles with IR radiation only, by using either household reflector incandescent lamps, or IR reflector lamps.

GE also made self-ballasted MV sunlamps but not of the same quality.
