Bent cathode leg and abnormally stretched filament in soviet F40T12

Bent cathode leg and abnormally stretched filament in soviet F40T12

This tube is installed in my backyard shed's soviet fluorescent fixture. I noticed with the corner of my eye the abnormally bent filament.. Soviet quality control y'all. This would not have passed trough quality control in US I think. The cathode assembly probably hit the corner of the tube while it was inserted but while it worked, it passed.

Most likely wouldn't. I have a Sylvania 40w incandescent Fan Light that has an entire bent assembly.

Power provider: Southern California Edison (SCE)

-Date decoder of some US lamps 1960-present.
-Switch and receptacle collector.
-I'll save any vintage lamp! Smiley
