Here's a score! There's about 20 two lamp F40T12 louvers here. Most with there original GE ballast. Pulled from an old school, were they've spent the last 60 years, in preparation for a remodel.

10 of them are in great shape and the other half have mostly good fixture bodies but a lot of bent louver panels. I think I got most of the stem hardware, it is in varying degree's of condition.

I let some of the help take them down but said I wanted to keep some. One of the other guys expressed a bit of interest too so I said I'd take 10 and he could have the rest. Well I got my 10 but noticed the rest made it to the scrap pile. I couldn't let that happen so I loaded up the rest but they were a bit worse for wear. I had to dig though the snow to find the stems, I asked where they were and the reply I got was "oh you wanted those too?" so they all had to be dug out of the scrap pile, some of the stems are broken. Should have taken them down myself...

Very well done.

I like my lamps thick, my ballasts heavy, and my fixtures tough.

It would have been better if I had gotten them all in good condition. Most of them are salvageable, the panel with the bend V channel in the front of the stack is the worst. The other bad ones mostly have bent blades, they could be straightened.

I should have grabbed a pic when they were still on the ceiling. It wasn't very impressive though, lots of 34w and various other crappy lamps.

If anyone around NW Iowa is interested I would be more than happy to part with a few of these. I have plans for some of them down the road but I doubt I will even need 20!
