Yep using it on a electronic ballast

T12/ t17 there's a reason they made heavy magnetic ballasts

Which is harder on it a preheat magnetic or electronic? Would think the electronic bc of the instant start..but is it easier then on the tube once its lit?

I believe electronic is easy on these since it's not running at full power. It's a t8 quicktronic ballast we use once a week I never had any fluorescent lights burn out or blacken here in 20 years

T12/ t17 there's a reason they made heavy magnetic ballasts

Electronic, if programmed-start (or RS) should be pretty easy on it...but instant-start is gonna be harder on it.

I'd be careful of magnetic is or 2 lamp rs it will shorten the life. Although single lamp rs might not be bad

These look good when paired with a red lamp, in my opinion.

@veryhighonoutput:
Probably one of the best would be one of those older 1xF40 Motorola electronics .. the ones that even at EOL it won't fry the lamp, just mercury-migrate it.

@Patrick:
I can imagine that combo would look great!!

Thanks for the lit photo! Are these the lamps that have a blue colour filter coating, that look blue even when not lit?
