Found this in one of my abandoned buildings...

Found this in one of my abandoned buildings...

It's a T17 fixture, I've been in this building so many times and I've never registered it as a T17... I always thought it was a T12... That is until I took a closer look at the bulb! Unfortunately once I drag this home I'll have no bulbs to test it with, since it probably needs two to light up.

The reflectors bent because I took the light down in a less than gentle way... I don't usually lug a ladder around on my goings...

Thanks! I'm currently still in the building.... The whole reason I came back here in the first place is because it started downpouring out and I didn't wanna get drenched again!

I stashed the fixture up in the ceiling for now... I cannot haul it home right now, it's too heavy..

If push comes to shove and I cannot haul the light home I will take the starters, sockets and ballast from it... I could always fabricate a new fixture, but the ideal outcome is to get the fixture itself and try and source bulbs from somewhere..

Sounds like you need a little wagon or something to tow behind your bike ! And T-17's DO come up on eBay for relatively cheap sometime! GOOD LUCK!!

Get the fixture one day, and the reflector another.
Or get yourself one of those little bike trailers for hauling stuff..

Great find!
Should work fine with one tube since it's a preheater.

My very first word was LIGHT!

Great find, yeah it should still fire right up if the one tube is still good.

I guess if you can't take it home in one trip I would take the ballast and sockets one day, the channel another, the reflector. I guess you could tie the lamp to channel or reflector and take it home too.

You can try to strip at a time to gather the necessary stuff. Grab the most important parts first, then work the way down

Pretty, please no more Chinese failure.
