Around here here we value reliability.

Here you see my WW2 fluorescent fixture with general Electric mainlighters complemented with a 300 watt 130v (266w) incandescent and both are connected to a bakelite Paulding Y socket adapter and the fluorescent is plugged in to a Bryant socket to plug adapter.

Fluorescent is great and nothing beats the old 200 and 300 watt incandescents, helps keep the circuit breakers warm and dried out.
