Unknow post light

Unknow post light

This post top light at a house for sale. I thought it might be a GE Town and Country, but IDK. I never seen a white one before.

Nice! There is a house in my grandparents' neighborhood that has one in HPS. I never knew HPS ones were sold for the residential market.

Don't be fooLED, T8 IS the worst thing to do to a magnetic T12 fixture.

I didn't either, although one house a few doors down from me, has a black one in the back yard, near the shoreline. It's HPS and I used to see it on at night, but not in a long time. A few other houses in my neighborhood, but not my street have the UFO style GE post tops that are MV.

I have also seen a few other houses with HPS post tops around, similar to the Town and Country although maybe another brand.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.

I think I saw one in MV once... I was on a bus though and it was too far away to tell. It was mounted very low and was very bright. I'm guessing 175w or so.

Nice! A bit low.

Good quality things are awesome. Cheaply made things are not.

Are the GE post tops city owned?

No they are privately owned. There is a subdivision here, that has all UFO post tops. There may be some GEs among it but I think most are AEL. Any spot replacements are AEL Contempos in HPS.

I have seen a taller one at a house that was MV, and it runs every night and very dim.

Nice! I knew of one of these with browned lens panels in a neighborhood somewhere in narragansett RI. But I cant remember where for the life of me. It was mounted low like this and partly engulfed in vines.

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

Try to save the mercury post top lights!
