GE MXR32 32w Halarc VS. GE 55w Miser Maxi-Light - Full Brightness

GE MXR32 32w Halarc VS. GE 55w Miser Maxi-Light - Full Brightness

The 2 lamps at full brightness. Brightness seems identical between the 2 . The Halarc (left) color temp seems a tiny bit cooler which is probably due to the Maxi-Light's filament ballast .

Great comparison! I had one of the 32w Halarcs, but gave it to another collector as I had no ballast for it. Both lamps are unique and rare, though of course the self-ballasted one is more so.

I'm lampin...

Believe it or not , there's over a dozen of the 32w Halarc ballasts on eBay now for relatively cheap .

There is a three way base on these, do you mind using all three setting on this lamp?

GE's packaging compared the Maxi Light to a 50/100/150 3-way but the lamp only has one light level which is the 150w equivalent . The base is just a regular medium base , not a 3-way .
