I've always preferred Sylvania metal halide lamps as I think their construction is superior to those of GE or Philips. Nice sharp cutoff of the Zirconium oxide coating around the ends, arc tube always on centerline, and overall ruggedness of the internals... the others just strike me as cheap. Just my opinion of course.

Interested mainly in discharge lighting (mercury, sodium, neon) and also old and unusual incandescents.

Phillips makes bulbs for GE now and they are very poorly made for being made in USA.
