Nice finds! Especially the case of Eagle switches.

Good quality things are awesome. Cheaply made things are not.

Collector of lights and anything else that interests me as long as I have space for that particular thing!

Thank you! If you remember, I found a single Eagle switch last time I went to the ReStore. I decided to get the rest of the case it came from today.

Nice finds! Is the GE HPS made in Hungary? I noticed that it has black glass on the base as opposed to the ceramic that most Chinese lamps have.

I like all kinds of lighting and electrical, except for LED, which I classify as a disease.

Went by my local ReStore on the way home from work...they had oodles of GE LU400's, for $3...I passed. Now if they had Philips Ceramalux C150S55 in the BT25 jacket, I'd have been all over them.

Formerly known as WestinghouseCeramalux.

Westinghouse Lifeguard Disease...it's nothing to fear...one can treat it by buying more! :poof:
Personally, I've been dealing with it since age 5, and I'm still alive and healthy!

Were they modern GE LU400s? Or 1980s/90s ones?

Yeah, that’s understandable why you left them there. If they were older ones I would get them.

I don't have much higher wattage HPS lamps so I probably would have grabbed it even if it was eco. Besides it'd be a good match for my OVF anyway.

Thank you! I now have enough to count as a complete case of 10 because there were 9 in the case (I bought one 5 weeks ago, bought the rest of the case today) and I also got one in June for my birthday.

Thank you! It is made in Hungary. There were 2 others, but they both had broken off arc tubes (as in the metal support was broken at the base).

Cool! Those are still decent quality at least. I wonder if the others were defective or if rough handling caused that.

Should I get the 2 others for Photonicinduction-style experiments with the arc tubes?

If you want to, but if they’re expensive I wouldn’t buy the defective lamps. Nice idea for the experiments!

It’s up to you if you’re interested in experimenting with them! That’s a pretty good price and is equal to the Lowe’s clearance price when they still sold these.

Apparently, these lamps came from a hardware store where the original price was $21.00, it was put on clearance for $8, and they ended up at the ReStore for $4.
