The cap makes it indeed look rather old, I wonder if it could be as early as 1940s.

Hello James . the date code is f39. It is possible that it is from the 40s. I think 1941 approx. if someone knows. the help is well received

With such a code it is from pre-1945 when the Russians invaded and took over this factory of Osram. If I understand the marking correctly, then it is probably June 1939.

I decoded it as December 1939, Werk-B, Wedding (Odnader Strasse)...Oh, I see why...I read "d39: not "f39"!!

Yes, if it is from Rotherstrasse then, Indeed it would be June 1939....just before the outbreak of WW-II....hard to believe it made it through all that....somebody must have taken it well out of the city.

Just watch that grey stuff in the cap collar, probably asbestos. Its OK as long as you don't fluff it up and breathe it in.

Thanks for the information. I love this bulb very much. I don't usually play with them. I take photos and keep them in boxes. Waiting someday, see the light again in my living room. I think I will prepare my salon as a museum.

I'd love to display all mine too, but don't have the space. I suppose I could display some of the rarer ones though, they do make great conversation pieces.

I want to see some (BIG) Spanish ones, Philips made them in Barcelona, Osram in Madrid and a third plant in Seville I think!

These bulbs take up a lot. It has been a while since I know how many I have and I have lost many photos of light bulbs that I cannot load, since I would have to unwrap many boxes again. Surely you have very good copies. Incandescents are my favorites. In Spain I don't think there's much left. If I depended on my country to make this gallery, I would laugh. The biggest thing I have is 1500w. Maybe people don't know that there are very large bulbs. My purpose is to get new light bulbs if possible. With or without packaging. it would be too much to ask

Grab the Spanish stuff if you can....the Spanish ones sound really rare. Our boggest was 1500 watt, we stopped making them in 1980. I have two or thee of this size.

2Kw is a very unusual rating and I don't think I have ever seen one. I have a fair few Japanese 3Kw ones though.

You're right and I located an osram 1500w bulb and I think I'll go for it. I find everything I find. sometimes something expensive but I prefer to be with less money. otherwise I risk running out of copy.

Wow . I would like to see a copy of 3000w Japanese.

2 kw bulbs are hard to find. but really great !! I know where there are more, but they are worn out or have a half-life. I only buy new or no trace of use. it is a better investment
