My first insulator!

There's a story behind this one, this is off of a telephone pole that was abandoned in the 1940s. My friends great grand father thought they look neat and took them down. My friend has another very rare one from 1893! This particular insulator was made in 1938. Do you think this is rare?

Very nice! Interesting story too. These old phone line insulators come in a lot of different shapes and colors. I don't think these clear ones were very common. Any chance of seeing a picture of the one from 1893? I've never seen an insulator from that far back.

I have two that look a lot like that. Also somewhere there is a green one here which I really like the colored ones.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.
