Got this from Home Depot. Paid a little bit too much for it.

that's what I thought to... It's actually pretty good quality for a Chinese built bulb.

Luckily I have a GE Multi-Vapor 175 watt probe start MH lamp... if they are any better than Feit lamps. I have heard rumors about GE multi vapor lamps being really poor quality.

What's wrong with it?

It already broke. Not because I dropped it, it just won't strike an arc. I tried putting 400 watts to that little guy and still nothing happened. I'm disgusted! China products are garbage!!

A lot of these probe-start lamps still need a pulse to start them. Even here with an OCV of around 250V MH lamps still don't start. They more often than not need a small kit of around 700V and they should strike. I have one of them igniters, I'll go have a look and I can upload a photo for you.

That's Fried Electric for you! Get some Philips CDM145 lamps off of eBay...they're 100% better, even if they're made in China.

HOW ???

I wired it a mogul socket to a hundred watt PSMH fixture. I used the igniter to send 4,000 volts to the Ark tube to strike an arc.

That 4kv seems way too much than is needed to strike that lamp. 700V igniters are they ones that are needed.
