@merc: they are really meant to be used in protected outdoor areas such as under a porch/verandah, under eaves or outdoor entertainment areas. They also used to be available in 60w. I have a couple of anti-insect fluorescent tubes which are a deeper yellow than this globe and they don't seem to attract moths or insects.

Robert, I'll try and take a pic of one lit.
