15w T8 fixture

15w T8 fixture

Saw this 15w T8 fixture above the mirror in the bathroom of a function venue. Looks like it might have once had a diffuser and there was no fluorescent tube to be seen. The ends are spring-loaded so it could be an ALI Cadet brand. I think it has been there since the mid 80's.

I've just moved into a new house and the garage, space under the house and kitchen all have ALI Cadet fittings. I plan to keep them there. They still have their labels.

Bring the old Thorn fixtures from your previous house?

I do but they are in boxes somewhere. I've also installed a photocell today and tomorrow installing some outdoor lighting for the yard. I live in the countryside now.

This might still work with a tube as I think it gets powered on when the ceiling light is on.

Oh thats great I wouldn't want to leave ANY of my fluorescent fixtures if I move Are the ALI Cadet fixtures T12 or T8? BTW Hows the new house that you've moved in? Is it better than your previous one?

I bet you put a tube in this fixture it'll light up like nothing has ever happened.

All the Cadet fixtures are from the T12 era but have T8 tubes in them. I'll get pictures tomorrow, while I'm under the house in the basement area running TV aerial leads to the bedrooms as well as the cabling for outdoor lights from the photocell. This house is bigger and better than my last house, with a large garden for young Matthew to play in. Big bedrooms which all have ceiling fans and huge living room. I'd say this house was built in the early-mid 1970s.
