on the left is a miners oilwick lamp also called a kettle lamp from the mid 1800s

on the right is a Philips 10w led lamp also known as a light emitting diode from 2014

which do you guys prefer or have I gone too far back in time

I have a campout hut up in the bush that is completely lit by kettle lamps so they work well

I wonder what the guy the made the kettle lamp thinks of the led lamp

To highlight the difference between an electronic light emitting device with a combustion process isn't really fair.

Highlighting the difference between an arc-lamp and HID lamp, or HID and LED, ..that would be more interesting.
