Refurbished/repainted ceiling fan

Refurbished/repainted ceiling fan

This used to be a polished brass/oak ceiling fan. The people I got this from were throwing it out because it didn't match their remodel, and so I figured I might as well take it in since it still worked and re-paint it. I also changed out the light shades for some cages and LED filament lamps. This currently isn't installed anywhere, but I have a few ideas for where I want to put it.

A bit of paint goes a long way to improving the look of those old brass/fake-wood fans.

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

Looks great! You have a real talent here. Not a fan of the brass/fake wood combo and I hate those "flower-shaped" glasses that were on this. The black wire cages and clear LED filaments look cool. I wonder how bad the shadows will be? I've installed some fixtures like this (but not fans; just regular lights with black wire cages and clear LED filaments) and the shadows were pretty harsh.

To resist is to piss in the wind, anyone who does will end up smelling.

Thanks! I lit it up by plugging it in and the shadows weren't too bad. I too hate the "flower" shades, unfortunately lots of the fans in my house have them. Eventually I'd like to re-paint all of the fans and change out the lights to make them look a lot more modern.
