Westinghouse OV-15, 250w mercury vapor

Picked this up from a Craigslist listing today. I'm not going to be keeping it, it's getting shipped to member WestinghouseCeramlux as soon as I get the chance. It's really nice and quiet, and the lamp it included, a Sylvania /DX clearband, doesn't seem to have too much use as it is very bright.

Hey...nice light...can't wait to get it.

Your mission - should you choose to except it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.

Very nice! It's an older model with the side bolts too, like the ones I recently photographed at a state park on those double davit poles. I've seen a few of these around here, all 100W MV AFAIK.

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

Something interesting I noticed about the refractor on this is that right above where it says "2-way" it has the Westinghouse logo. The one on my 4th-generation OV-15 is nearly identical except it doesn't have the Westinghouse logo.

The refractors were made by Holophane, and after Westinghouse sold their luminaire division to Cooper Industries, the logo was deleted from the lens, along with Westinghouse's part number. (I honestly think that Westinghouse had plans to sell their luminaire division as far back as 1978, when they decided to cheapen their product to raise profit margins for the division and entice someone to buy it.)
