I had two of electronic ones before and they both lasted a week.

It is the newer, slightly more compact fixture with the transparent ribbed diffuser instead of the older, boxier version with the white diffuser. That means that they must have redesigned the fixture before switching to the electronic ballast. This explains why even the new fixtures still have the mounting bracket for the magnetic ballast, even though it serves no purpose. When they originally introduced the new version, it didn't have an electronic ballast.

Only problem besides the UV-sensitive plastic lens, is the non-user-replaceable starter...

Yeah...i had one with bad starter because of a shorted bAllast so i ended up hot gluing a starter holder in, then modifying it to fit a larger preheat ballast. ..currently its just a lamp tester fixture because i have better quality metal ones in use
