How old is this? This bulb came out of a old 12v battery operated lantern.

Don't think anyone will know these batt lamps probably Chinese made by Jonlamp, they made some of the better ones, but lamps had no codes on them.

Interested in the history of electric lighting and incandescent in particular and neon glow lamps.

Can you upload a photo of the lantern? It's hard to tell with these generic lamps, but I might be able to tell with the lantern. Plus I like battery powered lanterns, so I'd like to see it, anyway.

migette1: While Johnlite lanterns are nice in design, they have, in my experience, rather poor build quality. The older Rayovac, Eveready, Coleman, and Ash Flash lanterns are much better, and drive the lamps better.
