Landfill rescue.

Landfill rescue.

Click to view full size image

Today was my first time bringing fluorescent bulbs to the landfill for hazardous waste collection. I had a bunch of burnt out T12 8 footers i did not want. I was told they go by a shed. When i got there I saw these two there and they did not look very used. So I dropped off the bad ones, and rescued these. Brought them home and they both work.

I have a bunch of those GE Residental Light tubes, they're pretty good lamps, the only thing about them is they tend to get a good bit of end banding over the course of their lives.

Old lighting is, and will always be, the best lighting.

Interesting that the Philips is non-Alto. It never ceases to amaze me how much people can waste.

Preheat and T-12 fluorescents forever! Down with LED's and instant start T-8 fluorescents.

It's funny how I give no craps taking old tubes from dumpsters and things like that
Nice find, if I were to find something like that, the tubes would be broken or dead

EDIT: I saw the comment above mine and looked at the photo and I really agree with him. This is very similar to a post that Lightingguy1994 had, the difference is he got a fixture instead of the bulb
