This is an original cast-iron column probably used with gas lighting. It now has a reproduction lantern. The name of the casting founder is still visible on base. “McCulloch & Co. Glasgow. This foundry no longer exists.

The lantern is fitted with two lamps a low wattage CFL and a 70w halide.

Why oh why did they fit a CFL!? For me this ruins the lantern.
Btw, where is the 70w halide fitted? Inside the top part?

Yeh, the CFL does nothing for the lantern but it is cheap to run. The 70W is in the top of the lantern.
