Commercial Service F40T12 running to EoL part 2

Commercial Service F40T12 running to EoL part 2

This is a F40T12 "Commercial Service" that was used at one of my church buildings. I believe it is a rebadged Philips, probably GE, given the length of the blackening. It has a filament guard. This thing went EoL on a T12 fixture but then I pushed it completely on a T8 fixture. It lasted a good 12 hours on the T8! Did it's death dance a few times, lots of spiraling, but didn't go out with a bang like I thought it would. I shut it off and then the next day came to power it up again and looks like the gas escaped.

Philips.

I like my lamps thick, my ballasts heavy, and my fixtures tough.

Thank you. I posted a photo of it running on the T8 fixture but I don't recall Phillips T12 lamps with that long/length of blackening. Their length of blackening tends to be more like Sylvania.

The more you hate the LED movement, the stronger it becomes.

The blackening/electrode area does seem pretty long for typical cathode guarded lamp. I've seen the earlier 40w Philips lamps, shortly after Westinghouse acquisition and before cathode guards, having long electrodes and blackening pattern.
