Can you believe this? A Hungarian made GE f40w/33 tube in my country! EOL, but still works on my FINTAR ballast. produce a nice warm, high quality, bright cool white light, looks identical to tungsram, wich I have ton of them.

Cool! Probably not much life left I am guessing. It's also possible for a lamp to do this from 'cold cathode' operation which could result from defect in wiring or ballast. That would also shorten life. It happens frequently on American rapid-start gear...where a cathode doesn't get heated from the 4v. Dirty/loose sockets or wires are the main cause.
