Close Up of Philips 60 Watt Soft White Bulb

Close Up of Philips 60 Watt Soft White Bulb

Click to view full size image

Here's a close up of one of Polish-made Philips 60 watt bulbs that I got a bulk order of. I decided to use this one in my office lamp instead of my rare Philips Pastel bulb, that's impossible to find these days. That's going back to my collection, and this far more common soft white bulb will work for me.

860 lumens is one of the brightest "real" 60 watt bulbs made. It's really bright, yet soft and pleasant for my workspace. These Philips 60 watt bulbs have supported horizontal filaments, barely visible through the thick soft white in this one.

For "Soft White" 860 is the brightest rating I know of. The GE Basics with the thin soft white coating and of course the clear incandescents I would expect to have higher than 860 lumens

Philips DuraMax and GE Miser forever!  Classic incandescents are the best incandescents!
