Ash bought this lamp to me for my tracklight, and an the first turn on, it outshone both my Sylvania HSI-TD 70W/D and my Osram HQI-TS 70W/WDL Excellence, in terms of run-up and hot restrike times, as well as color quality. 1 min run-up time, 2:30 min hot restrike time after long time of operation, Na-Sc chemistry and 4200K with a yellowish tinge as expected from brand new Na-Sc lamps.

Update: This lamp is a rebranded Rebranded Venture MH-DE 70W/UVS/4K

Are the outer envelopes standard glass? I always assumed these were quartz like halogen lamps and thus you aren't supposed to touch the bulb with your hands. I was going to say that arc tube looks like a Venture one...I had a 50w one with the ED17 outer and the arc tube blackened very early.

I'm lampin...

I dont think it is Quartz - It is not supposed to let out significant UV, and it does not appear fluorescent either (at least what i got to see under normal lighting) so probably does not have UV stop additives. But i think it does become hot enough to justify the same handling as with Quartz lamps, especially in the areas closer to the arctube

The outer envelope glowing when the lamp runs up: https://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-164660
There is even fluorescence afterglow on the envelope, at turning off: https://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-164661
All compact double ended MH lamps have quartz outer with UV block dopants.
